The Recycle Design Company project is a collaboration piece between the artists Michiel Henneman and Jiska Hartog. The realization of the project will happen at the Centre for drawing between the 3rd July until the 7th July 2006. You are invited to the centre for drawing on the 7th July at 5 pm for the official opening of The Recycle Design Company. Where the public is is able to see the start of their production. After the opening the Recycle Design Company will continue to exist in this format and concept.

The aim is to make three-dimensional objects out of paper. Objects made with paper chips or pulp with variation of techniques eg.moulding; depending on the form and purpose.
They want to experiment with drawing on to the objects or using patterns.
In modern culture designs are becoming increasingly more graphical,
the patterns and drawings are a reaction to this fashion. We see drawings in relation to our project; the creation of form on paper.
The objects will become three-dimensional drawings.

The ideology of the company is the design of  recycled material. They will manufacture products made out of paper, or recycled paper; and these products will also be recycled in the future. just as fashionable products can be recycled when they become out of fashion.

Why did they choose for recycling? "We all have to deal with our climate change especially the big production companies.Of course sometimes it feels like there is no beginning or no ending of this problem. And maybe there isn’t, but at least we can try by starting a production of recycled material".That’s why they choose the medium of paper instead of plastic Which has often been used for design. The way we use paper is mostly for writing or drawing; they want to use paper more in an unconventional manner, by making them into three dimension drawings. Paper is firstly associated with drawing on a flat surface and not with 3-D objects."This is something we really would like to explore by going from 2-D till 3D. This will be an interesting challenge".

The Centre for Drawing project space is going to be used as a company building with a workshop, gallery/display area and a meeting room. The space will be viewed as an installation; It will tell the story of a company's production line. we welcome guests to take a look at our production of the week. The company will display its products as commodities, with a cataloque in order to sell the products.
